ROCKPOOL ALAW BACH TCC Recessed Compass Mount Installation
The first Step is to run a taunt line from the bow to the stern. In this case I used a chalk line which worked pretty well. I attached on end to the stern security look and one to the bow.
Lining up the paper template under the string line, I marked the corners and center for drilling.
The template is placed 2” forward of the front hatch ring.
Drill the holes at on the template marks.
Mark the cut lines.
Cut out the hole and roughen both the deck and the compass mount where the methacrylate glue goes. Wipe both surfaces with alcohol.
Spread the adhesive on the compass mount liberally, place in hole, wipe excess adhesive up with alcohol and tape down compass mount. Let the adhesive cure.
Align Compass lubber lines with string line. Drill holes for Stainless screws, nylock nuts and neo washers.
View from the Cockpit.
Tools I used.
We have finished the new lower seat for the Rockpool Alaw Bach TCC. It is interchangeable with the Performance adjustable seat and 1.5” more depth for bigger thighs. The seat maintains the contoured lower back, but allows paddler to paddle with knees lower.

Side by Side
New Low Seat above and performance seat below it. Both seats come standard as adjustable but can easily be fixed in position.
